Nexus of Networks
Modern tribes and tribal institutions -- due in part to evolved traditions -- can be a check on the anti-democratic states arbitrarily created from European colonial mandates, Nigeria being a case in point. Democratic tribal institutions, in this context, can serve as a nexus of networks engaged in democratizing capital ownership. The World Indigenous Peoples' Movement, for example, presented a tribal proposal to the UN last December, as an alternative to carbon market trading and other Ponzi schemes of its member states.
