Cultural Diversity
One of the prime examples of cultural diversity in the United States is found in the naming of a national monument in Wyoming 'Devils Tower'. The Indian tribes of the area called it Bear's Lodge and Tree Rock, referring to the Native American story about how it lifted the stars of the Big Dipper into the sky--a much more friendly narrative than that imposed by Christians intent on demeaning indigenous 'heathens'.

Twilight of Ecosystems
Evolution is usually a slow process, but in the current twilight of ecosystems we knew a mere half-century previous, the biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment are changing faster than our collective comprehension. This turbulent change is disturbing to our psyche in ways we cannot imagine, yet display through pathological behavior. Mental disorders are thus proliferating at a rate that precludes the understanding required for any chance at reasonable adaptation. Medicating these disorders only masks the problem.
