Flattery and Disappointment
Presidential contests in the US are a lot like navigating offshore along
the Pacific Coast of North America from Vancouver Island in Canada to the mouth of the
Columbia River -- which separates Washington from Oregon -- initially
passing Cape Flattery, and finally arriving at Cape Disappointment.
